February's Garments Completed!

I made an outfit for this month and here's me modeling it. I don't take good picture of myself.
I LOVE these pants! I did a size 12, but the waist I did size 14 and the crotch is perfect. Is this what you call a TNT if so then I have two now, the top and pants.
My husband said I looked very nice when he came home from work today. I guess anything would looks nicer that seeing me in sweats all the time.
Sorry for not smiling, but taking pictures of yourself and waiting for the flash to go off isn't easy. :)
After seeing so many lovely women with their grey hair, I decided to let mine grow out
Now I need a nice haircut, any suggestions on a style would be welcomed!

I have a very flat backside, that's why I'm only showing it with the jacket on.

I used  S1808

The only changes were.
1. I didn't put elastic in the sleeves of the top.
2. I lengthened the jacket to cover my bum.
3.I added binding to the jacket

Have a very Blessed weekend!

Almost finished with my February outfit.
Pant need hemmed, jacket sleeves need shorten and I'll be done.
I'll take pictures wearing them tomorrow.

As I said I will not make this jacket again, but the top I see me making more of. The pants I like, but would do a few adjustments. I made a size 12 with the waist size 14. next time I'll do a size 16 for the waist keep the hips at 14 and taper the legs down to a 10 or 12.

The collar of this jacket didn't stand out before so I added brown binding to collar and lower edge.
I still might shorten the sleeves but I'll wear it first to see how I like.
I wont be making this jacket again because the peplum makes me look bigger than I already am.

I liked this top pattern so well, I made a black one with fabric I had leftover from my Barb pants. Before I take any pictures of be me wearing them, I need to hem both top & pants.
I'm hoping to make another pair of Barb pants but in a khaki to match the jacket.
I also hope to get another Tootie top done this week, with better fabric. I purchased at Hancock fabrics.

Have a Blessed week and fun sewing

February's Garments

Making a muslin is really helpful not only for fitting, but getting your mistakes out of the way. When sewing my jacket I didn't make one mistake because I worked them all out on the muslin. The only problem now is I don't like it. I'm taking it a part and going to either change the collar to brown or add brown piping to it. I made the sleeves longer and I don't like that either, so I think I'll make a cuff sleeve. The bottom of the jacket has a ruffle which is hard to see so I though I would break it up with brown piping around the waist where the ruffle is attached.
I really liked this fabric when I purchased it and thought it would make a great spring jacket, but now it looks like a curtain.
I should have made a blazer jacket instead.
The back has a pleat in the ruffle.
Today I made the pink top and I really like it.
I made a size 16 because it's a knit and that's what Style Arc said I should make with their patterns.
I already ordered size 18 for the Tooties top and it was to big.
So I thought a 16 would be perfect. Nope, a tad to small. I don't care I'm still wearing it.
Next time Simplicity knits size 18.
I want to make a yellow & orange top to go with this jacket too.
Tomorrow cutting out muslin for my pants and working on a new top.

Have a Blessed week everyone!
